Eurobike 2015: some insights into mechanical performance

Hello everyone,
I was at the EUROBIKE 2015 show on Wednesday, August 26. Only Eurobike 2015: some one day is very short and it’s impossible to see everything. I had targeted
a few stands to find some hardware optimizations.
On the Céramiquespeed stand we could find a
new oversized derailleur cage capable of accommodating
17-tooth pulleys!

According to their performance study, this system would save
2.4 watts at 250 watts compared to an 11V Dura Ace cage. The test was conducted by Friction Fact,
so we can assume it’s serious.

The latter had already highlighted the interest

of this type of cage allowing to accommodate large rollers phone number library and to gain 1.7 watts Eurobike 2015: some with 15-tooth rollers. That said, the
gain must be tempered because the table also shows that it is during a passage from classic rolling roller
to ceramic. It is therefore less if one is already equipped with
ceramic rollers!

At 450 euros per kit, this is still elite optimization! In
the same vein and for 105 euros, Ceramique Speed also offers the
UltrafastOptimization chain based on Molybdenum/Teflon treatment to
achieve 0.2 watts compared to the squirt
lub!

Beware of white particle projections with such treatment!
Regarding lubricants, I was able to talk with an
engineer from Muc-Off about their flagship product, Hydrodynamic, which I
recently tested. Unfortunately, there was no way to retrieve a comparison made with their
measuring bench.

The Muc-off bench

He just told me that they didn’t want supercharge your b2b lead generation with our 9 unbeatable tips to go with a
wax-based solution like Squit Lube because they were able to test that the
performance deteriorated quickly when the product dried and stuck with dirt.
So they went with a very greasy but fluid product. No figures to clean email communicate, so we’ll wait for Friction Fact for that.
On the tire side, there’s very little news from my
reference supplier Continental…the GP TT 25 mm was still on display with an
imminent release date but no specific date confirmed…
we’ve been waiting for 6 months.
