The KFC scammer the man who posed as a quality inspector

A few months ago, the documentary series The Tinder Scammer saw the light of day with considerable success on Netflix . And the truth is that there is another true story out there (much funnier than the one told in The Tinder Scammer ) that could well be the culinary replica of the famous Netflix documentary. Its title would be “The KFC scammer . ” And approximately three years ago in South Africa a man posed as a quality inspector to gobble down KFC’s famous fried chicken as if there were no tomorrow.

Anything for the Taste

Such a delirious (and viral) story has now top industry data taken the form of an advertisement that recounts the adventures of the so-called KFC scammer and is spreading like wildfire on the Internet. The spot , based on real events, tells the story of a man who puts himself in the shoes of a fake quality inspector to eat free at KFC restaurants. Signed by the Ogilvy South Africa agency, the ad, appropriately named borrows elements from the films of filmmakers such as the Coen Brothers, but gives the whole thing an unmistakable South African flavour

Has achieved the desired virality on the Internet

The interpretation, comical and realistic AO Lists in equal parts, of the actors and the vast myriad of locations throughout South Africa that make their way into the spot make the advertisement a strong candidate to be part (absolutely unavoidable) of culture pop in the African country. The jubilant song “Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy” by Billy Stewart provides the perfect sonic counterpoint to the story of fraud that makes its way into the advertisement . The KFC spot was directed by Greg Gray while Romance Films produced the film. Thanks to its delicious amalgamation of ingredients,  has achieved the desired virality on the Internet and on YouTube it has already accumulated more than a million views.
